Albemarle County police are investigating an armed robbery at the Latino Market in the Greenbrier Square shopping center off U.S. 29 north of Charlottesville.
Officers responded at about 8:40 a.m. Saturday to a reported armed robbery at the grocery store at 380 Greenbrier Drive, the police said in a statement issued later in the day.
Surveillance footage of the incident being circulated by police shows one person wearing a black sweatshirt and a camouflage hat and a second wearing a white sweatshirt with black stripes and a dark colored hat.
"The suspects were given an unknown amount of cash prior to exiting the store in an unknown direction of travel," police said in their Saturday statement.
The matter is considered an ongoing investigation, police said.
