Bluebird & Co. will welcome Crozet author Mollie Ann Cox at 7 p.m. Tuesday to celebrate the release of “The Lace Widow,” her new book for history and mystery fans.
Cox’s latest work is about Eliza Hamilton, who learns after husband Alexander Hamilton’s death that he may have been at the center of a vast murder plot.
Cox will discuss her work, answer questions from the audience and sign copies. She has been a finalist for an Agatha Award and a Daphne du Maurier Award.

Jefferson-Madison Regional Library’s Gordon Avenue Library has a new drive-up window next to the drive-up book return. The driveway entrance is on Ackley Lane.
Patrons who are checking out books, audiobooks, DVDs and other items at jmrl.org. may select “Gordon Avenue” as the pickup location. The option can be convenient for patrons with mobility needs, parents with children in their vehicles and other readers in a hurry.
Hours for drive-up window service are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The window also is available by bell service only from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Learn more at jmrl.org.

10 a.m. Saturday at Scottsville Library: The annual Holiday Craft Fair gives visitors an opportunity to make winter crafts. The event, a collaboration with Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature’s Scottsville Town Holiday event, is fun for the whole family.
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Northside Library: Bilingual Storytime includes stories, songs and rhymes in English and Spanish. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by caregivers. No registration is required.
2 p.m. Sunday at Central Library: For Goodness’ Bakes offers visitors a chance to eat cookies, make crafts and meet friends and neighbors. Bring a batch of your homemade cookies to enter in the Cookie Competition; registration is not required, but it is appreciated. Check the wishlist of items at shelterforhelpinemergency.org and bring items to donate to the Shelter for Help in Emergency; email adavis@jmrl.org with questions.
4 p.m. Tuesday at Greene County Library: Crafts and Cards gives teens a chance to make hot chocolate ornaments and holiday greeting cards.
All day Wednesday at Nelson Memorial Library: The third annual Holiday Craft Day gives people of all ages some time to create some holiday crafts.
4 p.m. Wednesday at Crozet Library: The Heifetz International Music Institute presents a free concert of solo and chamber music selections performed by exceptional students from its2023 program. No registration is required for the all-ages program.
Central Library is participating in the Elves in Cville Scavenger Hunt, which is part of Friends of Charlottesville Downtown’s Magic on the Mall festivities, through Dec. 31. To get your North Pole Passes stamped at the front desk, you must be able to locate Cinder, Central’s Scout Elf, somewhere in the library.
