Charlottesville police ask for help ID'ing 'vehicles of interest' in shooting

The Charlottesville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying two "vehicles of interest" connected to a reported shooting last Thursday in the city’s Meadows neighborhood.

Police said they responded to the scene of reported gunshots in the 1900 block of Cedar Hill Road around 5:42 p.m. Thursday.

"Multiple shell casings were located at the scene," police said in a statement at the time.

No one was reported injured by the gunfire, and no suspects have been named.

The police department is circulating still images taken by nearby surveillance showing one gray vehicle and one black vehicle driving through the area.

"These vehicles were in the area before and after the incident," police said in a statement.

Anyone with information regarding the two pictured vehicles is encouraged to contact the Charlottesville Police Department at (434) 970-3280 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at (434) 977-4000.
