Charlottesville police are looking into reports of shots fired late Sunday night near the Kindlewood apartments downtown.

There were no injuries or damage to property reported.

Police said they arrived at the 400 block of Garrett Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of gunshots in the area.

Officers remained on the scene for some time as they processed evidence, the police department said in a statement.

"At this point there is no information that anyone or any property was struck by gunfire," the department said.

The police did not immediately respond to a request for additional details from The Daily Progress.
