Charlottesville Police recover drugs, cash and guns in house raid

Charlottesville police say they recovered an assortment of drugs, cash and guns during a Wednesday raid on a residence in the city’s Meadows neighborhood.

Detectives and patrol officers reported they recovered more than a pound of marijuana, roughly $48,000, two rifles and several calibers of ammunition while executing a search warrant in the 1600 block of Cedar Hill Road.

The search warrants were issued in connection to multiple report of shots fired in the area on Feb. 1, according to police spokesman Kyle Ervin.

Two days before the raid, police said they arrested two men connected to the items found inside the house during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Fifth Street Southwest. Two rifles were also seized during the stop.

Dentrit and Deorin Roshaj were taken into custody on Monday.

Nineteen-year-old Dentrit Roshaj was charged with shooting at a moving vehicle and the reckless handling of a firearm. Deorin Roshaj, 22, was charged with the possession of firearms while possessing over a pound of marijuana and the possession of a concealed weapon during a traffic stop.

Police did not say how the two men were related.

A juvenile male has also been arrested in relation to the case and charged with shooting at a moving vehicle and the reckless handling of a firearm. The identities of juvenile suspects and victims are typically withheld during police investigations.
