Early voting starts today in Charlottesville

In-person early voting for this November’s general elections are underway in Charlottesville. Polls opened Friday. Early voting will be allowed through Nov. 4.

Early voting takes place in the Office of Voter Registration in the City Hall Annex in downtown Charlottesville during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours will be extended until 7 p.m. on Thursdays during the early-voting period.

The Voter Registration Office will also be open on two Saturdays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Curbside voting will be available for qualified voters, including those with disabilities and voters who are over the age of 65.

Any voter who wishes to request a mail ballot may do so by submitting a vote by mail application to the Voter Registration Office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Registration for the November general elections closes on Oct. 16.

All polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 7.
