Wintergreen Music will be sharing a “Sounds of Spring” performance event at Veritas Vineyard & Winery next week to get listeners thinking about its upcoming summer festival and Veritas’ own 25th anniversary.
“Evening Serenade at the Farmhouse” is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Farmhouse at Veritas. Wines will be served with a four-course meal prepared by executive chef Cody McGehee, and violinist Ellen Cockerham Riccio and oboist Bill Parrish will provide music to complement each course.
A previously announced outdoor “Music in the Grove” event for 1:30 p.m. April 13 in Veritas’ Grove space has been canceled in anticipation of rain.
Friday’s event can help music fans plan ahead for the upcoming Wintergreen Music Festival, which will be presented from July 4 to 28 at the Wintergreen Resort and nearby locations.
Tickets for the 2024 season went on sale for the festival’s premier patrons on Thursday and will be available to the public on Wednesday. The full schedule of concerts and events can be seen starting Wednesday at www.wintergreenmusic.org.
The festival will begin July 6 with “An American Salute with Orchestra,” a family-friendly patriotic pops concert that will headline the Saturday night festivities for the resort’s July Fourth Jubilee.
The season’s first MountainTop Masterworks program, which will include Aaron Copland’s original version of “Appalachian Spring” and W.A. Mozart’s “Symphony No. 29,” will be presented July7 with pianist and guest conductor Rei Hotoda. The next day, at 6:30 p.m. July 8, the Mozart symphony and Veritas wines will be in the spotlight for a Vines & Violins event at Veritas.
