A broken water boiler has closed the Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center in Charlottesville.
Those who swim at the center are encouraged to check the center’s online calendar to view which programs have been affected. Anyone who already has registered for a program should receive an email from the city with information regarding any venue change.
"Maintenance staff are working on the repairs and once a timeline is confirmed, we will provide updates," the city said in a statement issued Friday.
The Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center is located at 1000 Cherry Ave. During normal hours of operation, the facility is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
