A Buckingham County woman is dead after a vehicle struck her while she was crossing a roadway just east of Smith Store the night of July Fourth.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Angela Cook.
Virginia State Police say Cook was in the roadway on Virginia Route 20 near the highway’s intersection with Glenmore Road around 10:13 p.m. Friday. A motorist headed north on Route 20 was unable to avoid Cook and struck her, state police said.
She died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
