An Orange woman was arrested this past weekend after authorities said they found her in a ditch with cocaine in her system.
Sarah Ann Rivera, 50, was charged with possession of narcotics and taken into custody Saturday.
Orange County deputies reported finding Rivera sitting in a ditch off Grasty Lane near the community of Lahore, east of the town of Orange.
Investigating the scene, “narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered,” the county sheriff’s office said in a statement issued Sunday.
“A field test detected the presence of cocaine,” the sheriff’s office said.
Rivera was charged and booked at Central Virginia Regional Jail. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
