Evergreen Church Road in Greene County near Dyke has been closed so Virginia Department of Transportation crews can repair a failed drainage pipe beneath the asphalt.
Those crews will begin excavation work this coming Monday. The road is expected to reopen July 13.
“A signed detour is in place during the closure, directing traffic to Route 810 (Dyke Road) and Route 650 (Mount Olivet Road), which connects back to Evergreen Church Road either west of the closure or near the intersection of Route 615 and Route 810 on the east side,” VDOT said in a statement issued Wednesday.
VDOT is asking motorists to be alert for workers and equipment, follow detour signs, and use caution in the area.
