One man is dead and another injured after a wreck on Taylors Gap Road near Taylor’s Mountain west of Charlottesville.
Albemarle County police as well as a Fire Rescue crew responded to a reported motor vehicle crash in the 600 block of Taylors Gap Road around 2:41 p.m. Thursday.
“Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision,” the police department said in a statement. “Both drivers were transported to UVA Hospital, one suffering from non-life threatening injuries and one suffering from life-threatening injuries.”
The latter driver, identified as 32-year-old Nathaniel B. Spindel of Albemarle County, later succumbed to his injuries.
Albemarle County authorities say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
