One person has been hospitalized after a shooting in Charlottesville’s Fifeville neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim, but have said they are a Fluvanna County resident last listed in critical condition.
Charlottesville police officers were dispatched to reported shots fired around 12:09 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of 7 1/2 Street Southwest.
“Shortly after officers responded to the incident, a 40-year-old Fluvanna County resident arrived at the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds,” the police department said in a statement issued later in the day.
Officers executed a search warrant on a residence in the 600 block of 7 1/2 Street Southwest, where evidence was recovered, according to the police department.
The investigation is ongoing.
