A woman has been charged with driving under the influence after she drove into a ditch after an Orange County sheriff’s deputy clocked her driving 37 mph over the posted speed limit earlier this month.
The woman’s identity has not been disclosed to the public, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office did say she had been charged with DUI and reckless driving.
Only July 8, a deputy attempted to stop the unnamed motorist on U.S. 15 near Black Level Road after she was seen driving 92 mph in a 55 mph zone.
“When the driver attempted to make a U-turn at the median, they drove into a ditch — a strong indication of possible impairment,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The woman’s blood-alcohol level came in at 0.14%, well above the 0.08% legal limit.
The woman was arrested and booked at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange.
