Albemarle police investigating gunshots in neighborhood north of Charlottesville

Albemarle County police are investigating Friday afternoon gunshots north of Charlottesville city limits that damaged a single vehicle.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.

Police were dispatched around 4:58 p.m. Friday to multiple reports of shots fired in the 2200 block of Commonwealth Drive, an apartment-, condominium- and townhouse-heavy area north of Charlottesville.

“First responders arrived on scene within two minutes and discovered several shell casings in the area,” the police department said in a statement. “One vehicle was struck, but no injuries have been reported.”
