Albemarle County police are asking for the public’s assistance searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run at an Esmont school bus stop Thursday that left a child injured.
The suspect vehicle has only been described as a blue sedan.
The hit-and-run occurred between 7:10 and 7:25 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Porters Road and King Solomons Lane.
The child that was struck sustained an injury to their foot and was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center in nearby Charlottesville for treatment.
“ACPD is asking the public to come forward with any information that may lead to locating the suspect vehicle in this incident,” the police department said in a statement issued later in the day. “Anyone who was traveling in this area is encouraged to check their dash cam footage.”
