The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, sponsoring 25 locations across Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley to help children with summer nutritional needs.
During the summer, the program will serve 550 children across the food bank’s 25-county, eight-city area. Children will have access to breakfast items, vegetables and dishes with proteins from meat and other sources.
The items are provided to Boys & Girls Clubs, summer school programs, churches and recreation programs.
