Earlysville residents displaced after house fire

An Earlysville household has been displaced after a fire Thursday evening.

There were no injuries reported at the scene, and the fire marshal’s office has determined the fire was accidental in nature.

Career and volunteer crews with Albemarle County Fire Rescue were dispatched around 6:10 p.m. Thursday to a reported fire in the 1000 block of Hunters Ridge Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters said they discovered smoke throughout the first story of the residence.

The fire was contained within minutes, according to the fire department.

“The fire was discovered by the homeowner upon returning home, who then called 911,” the fire department said. “No injuries were reported, and family and friends are assisting the displaced residents.”
