A Fort Defiance man faces cyberstalking charges in federal court after authorities say he used more than a thousand online accounts to harass and threaten a person in Canada.
Nicholas Andrew McMillion, 25, was taken into custody Sept. 24.
Court records show McMillion used online communication platform Discord and gaming platform Medal, among others, to stalk and harass an unnamed individual in Canada.
“Records show that McMillion created at least 1,000 Medal accounts and used many of them to contact and harass Victim 1, despite Victim 1’s repeated attempts to block contact with him and being blocked by Medal customer support,” reads a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia issued after his arrest.
McMillion’s threats were both violent and sexual in nature, according the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sally Sullivan is to prosecute the case. The FBI is leading the ongoing investigation.
