Man reported missing near Lewis Falls in Shenandoah National Park

A search is underway for a 61-year-old man reported missing Saturday night in Shenandoah National Park.

Robert "Bob" Bieri was last seen off trail in the vicinity of Lewis Falls on Saturday, according to the National Park Service. The 81-foot-tall waterfall is located in the Madison County section of the park.

Bieri was wearing a short-sleeve, red shirt, green shorts, a fanny pack, glasses and tennis shoes. He is 5-foot-10, 205 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes, according to the park service.

Shenandoah National Park Search and Rescue personnel are leading a full-scale operation launched late Sunday evening. Virginia Department of Emergency Management and Virginia State Police personnel are aiding in the search.
