McLean man charged with DUI in Greene

A McLean man faces multiple charges after Greene County authorities say he was caught driving under the influence in the Burtonville area.

Adam John Neal — who the sheriff’s office says is 34 but jail records say is 54 — has been charged with driving under the influence, speeding, possession of drugs and refusing to take a breath test.

“A Good Samaritan” reported a possibly intoxicated motorist to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

A sheriff’s deputy witnessed the motorist, later identified as Neal, driving erratically and traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The deputy pulled the vehicle over on U.S. 29 near Dairy Road.

“After approaching the vehicle and interacting with the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Adam John Neal from McLean, Virginia, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. Neal was subsequentlty [sic] arrested without incident,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Neal was booked at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange. He was later released on bond.
