The National Park Service has called off the search for a man reported missing in Shenandoah National Park after his body was discovered Monday afternoon.
Bob Bieri, a 61-year-old resident of Severna, Maryland, was reported missing Saturday. He was last seen off trail in the vicinity of Lewis Falls, the 81-foot-tall waterfall near the Madison County line, according to the park service.
A full-scale search operation was activated late Saturday.
Bieri’s body was found at 12:13 p.m. Monday near the falls.
