An Orange County man is in custody after leading sheriff’s deputies on a foot chase through the woods earlier this month when they attempted to serve a warrant for probation violation.
When deputies attempted to serve Devante Fredell Collins, 32, at his residence he fled, running into the nearby woods.
Deputies followed Collins and arrested him after a brief pursuit.
Collins was wanted for violating the terms of his probation, for previous charges of possession of Schedule I or II drugs and failure to appear in court.
Collins remains in custody at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange.
