Staunton boil-water advisory lifted

A boil-water advisory in Staunton was lifted on Monday after it was prompted by a break in a water main late last week.

The advisory was issued Friday.

Any break in a water line can reduce water pressure and increase the risk of dangerous bacteria, including E. coli, entering the water supply.

Water samples taken from Staunton were tested for both residual chlorine and bacteria. All samples collected from Friday through Sunday were absent harmful bacteria.
