Wanted man in the passenger seat: 2 arrested in Orange County traffic stop

A vehicle’s driver and passenger were both taken into custody during a traffic stop in Orange County last Tuesday.

Driver Jeffrey Jenkins, a 57-year-old Orange resident, has been charged with driving with a revoked license. Meanwhile, passenger Darren Glover, a 59-year-old Fredericksburg resident, was taken into custody on 11 outstanding felony warrants issued in Orange County and Culpeper.

An Orange County sheriff’s deputy was conducting traffic enforcement last Tuesday near state Route 20 and U.S. Route 522 when he witnessed a vehicle make an unsafe U-turn, according to a sheriff’s office statement. The vehicle turned onto Narrow Gauge Road, cutting off an oncoming driver, the deputy reported.

A traffic stop was conducted and both Jenkins and Glover were taken into custody.

The pair was transported to Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange.

Glover remained in custody at the jail as of Saturday evening. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office did not divulge what felonies he is accused of committing.
