1 injured after massive party in Barboursville turns violent Thanksgiving morning

A person is injured after a party in Barboursville in the early hours of Thanksgiving Day turned violent, part of what Greene County authorities referred to as a "roving party that pops up at various locations across several counties."

The injured individual, whose identity has not been disclosed to the public, is listed in stable condition at a local hospital, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched early Thursday morning to reports of gunshots fired at a large party on Toms Road.

"Deputies arrived to find over one hundred individuals fleeing the scene," the sheriff’s office said in a statement. "Multiple spent shell casings from several different caliber guns were located and it was obvious that a fight had occurred."

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance determining who and what was responsible. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Capt. Kevin Freid at (434) 566-2813.
