Orange County authorities searching for woman accused of identity theft

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance identifying a woman accused of identity theft.

The sheriff’s office said it received a report on May 21 that a county resident had their driver’s license stolen and used to cash fraudulent checks at multiple financial institutions.

“The Orange County Sheriff’s Office promptly sent legal service to the financial institutions and received the images of the suspect,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement issued Tuesday.

The delay in a public announcement, the sheriff’s office said, is because it did not receive the surveillance footage of the suspect from the financial institutions until Monday.

The images distributed by the sheriff’s office show a woman with blonde hair in a white minivan.

Anyone with information regarding the pictured suspect is encouraged to contact the investigating officer at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 672-1200. Those who wish to remain anonymous can reach out via the P3 Tips service online at https://p3tips.com/Drill.aspx.
