An Orange County woman is one of seven who died in fatal collisions on Virginia roadways over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Deborah Goschen White, 69, was killed after a single-vehicle collision on James Madison Highway just north of White Oak Road in Culpeper on Nov. 27.
White was traveling south in a 2015 Kia Soul when she ran off the right side of the road and collided with a tree around 6:45 p.m., according to Virginia State Police. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to University of Virginia Medical Center, where she later died.
White was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, police said. While an investigation into the wreck is still ongoing, a medical emergency is believed to have caused White to drive off the road.
White was one of seven who died in wrecks on Virginia roadways during the five-day period surrounding Thanksgiving, from Nov. 27 through Dec. 1. Other fatal collisions were reported in Bath, Culpeper, Page, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Warren and Wythe counties.
